Kimberley Sterl
Barn Manager
Kim Sterl is a lifelong horsewoman who bought her first horse when she was 15 years old, as soon as she got her driver’s license and a decent job!
She developed an excellent foundation in classical dressage and riding instruction under Janet Briggs in the early 1980’s at UNH while working on her degree in PreVeterinary Medicine. Kim’s riding education has been further enriched with riding lessons and clinics with Dr. Henri Van Schaik, Volker Bromman, Torrence Watkins, Carol Lavell, Nancy Guyotte, Pam Goodrich, Mary Howard, Mike Plumb, Gwyneth McPherson, Yvonne Coleman-Larson, and others.
Kim’s other equine endeavors include holding Thoroughbred racehorse trainer licenses at both Rockingham Park and Suffolk Downs, working as a freelance TB exercise rider, working at a TB breeding farm, veterinary assistant, polo pony groom/exerciser, and foxhunting staff. She dabbles in Mounted Games (MGAA/USPC) and has been breeding her South Ridge Farm Connemara ponies since 1998.
Most recently, Kim earned her Centered Riding® Level 1 Instructor certification, working with Joan “Sam” Morrison, a CR Level 4 Instructor. She loves to help people learn better ways to get along with, handle and ride their horses and Centered Riding works for all disciplines!
Due to accumulated injuries, Kim now mostly trail rides her 18-year-old Connemara gelding and drives her 4-year-old Connemara filly. She hopes to be able to bring fun educational clinics to Goose Pond Farm, provide lessons and boarding services, and continue to support the local jumper and gymkhana community.
